Unknown sperm donation process initiates with an evaluation of the potential donor’s eligibility through consultations and medical evaluations. Comprehensive counselling is mandatory for both donors and recipients, accompanied by the completion of consent forms for the donation and reception of sperm. The sperm is frozen and subjected to a quarantine period lasting a minimum of three months. Following this period, the donor is required to undergo additional blood tests to confirm the safety of the frozen sperm for treatment purposes.
Known sperm donation refers to the process in which a person or couple uses sperm from a donor they know personally, such as a friend, a family member, or someone they have chosen. Unlike unknown sperm donation, where the donor’s identity is typically undisclosed, known sperm donation involves a direct connection between the donor and the parent/s.
